warren Inner circle uk 3277 Posts | 0 I don't have this effect personally but as you haven't had any replies how about giving us a review,ie does it get good reaction's in the real world,is it practical,is it worth the money, are the instruction's that come with it easy to follow, does it have a reset etc? so how about a review please.
Caruthias New user Ottawa, Ontario 67 Posts | 0 I perform the basic one. I think it's great because it has no setup - I start and end with the normal washer in my left pants pocket, and the other 'one' in my right pants pocket.
Chris Thibault Elite user Massachusetts 469 Posts | 0 I perform the standard routine. I've been using it for about 3 years and love it! I originally bought it from Jay a long time ago.
njh Regular user Baltimore, MD 143 Posts | 0 I have a question about this trick. I lost the washer without the hole in it, the one that's just the metal disk, and I don't know where I can get another one. I went to Home Depot, and I know for sure after all my searching that they don't sell it. Anyone have any ideas? Will I have to make my own? Caleb Wiles Inner circle Indianapolis, IN 1130 Posts | 0 I love Holy Moly. It's the best thing Jay Sankey has put out in awhile. I perform the standard simple version, because I feel it's the strongest. It's great for walk around. It doesn't need a table. The magic happens in the spectator's hand. Definitely worth the money. There's no reset. It's fairly easy to do. The instructions are clear, and Penguin provides an online teaching video with the purchase. I would highly recommend it. ixnay66 Inner circle Denver 1504 Posts | 0 A standard drill press will make the necessary holes in some half dollars. I think it's great Jay sells this with washers so it's an affordable trick. 10 years ago you'd probably have to buy this in halfs from Johnson for $40
Lee Darrow V.I.P. Chicago, IL USA 3588 Posts | 0 I am ALWAYS on board with Holey Moley - carry it everywhere. I do the basic routine and the response is killer. Throw in a couple of coin passes with the 'unholy' disc and your street cred with the audience is locked in. Now I'm working on that finger ring thing of his.. penetrates my finger, then the spectator's.. Lee Darrow, C.H. http://www.leedarrow.com <BR>'Because NICE Matters!'

warren Inner circle uk 3277 Posts | 0 Having read the good reviews about this effect I purchased it a while a go now and must say it play's very strong for the lay public,it's perfect for walkaround and for table hopping.
Clarioneer Special user Ferndown, Dorset, UK 624 Posts | 0 Just notice how many times Lee has mentioned this in all sorts of threads and you should get the picture - bought it on this basis alone - when someone mentions something this many times it's got to be good.. (even though he can't properly spell the effect )
wespetty Regular user Georgia 139 Posts | 0 I carry this with me all the time too. Great effect. Want some fun? Perform Holey Moley (and/or Doc Eason's 'All Screwed Up') for the guy/gal who happens to be working in the Hardware dept. at Home Depot, Lowe's, etc. Show the salesperson the normal Holey Moley washer. Ask if they have any more washers like this (it's unlikely they do). Let your face show disappointment. It's likely that he/she will ask what you need/are using them for (in the hopes that they will be able to show you something else that may work instead - cross merchandising you see). Tell them 'for magic'. They will give you a puzzled look. Now show them Holey Moley. If you show them Doc's 'All Screwed Up' be sure to act like you grab the 3 nuts out of their drawer of nuts (obviously, you had already located where the appropriate drawer was ahead of time and you just HAPPEN to be standing near it when you asked about the washers). Vraagaard Inner circle Copenhagen, Denmark 1180 Posts | 0 Hmm, Holy Moly. Maybe I just have to many Jay Sankey effects to appreciate this. This is almost too simple, although I like simplicity. Watching the demo video once and you know how its done. Wouldn't lay people actually know that too - apparently not - since an experienced magician like Lee can get such mileage out of this effect. I just struck mee to be one of those tricks where a more intellectual and sceptical audience would guess how its done - right away. Maybe I'm wrong.
Review King Eternal Order 14446 Posts | 0 Holy Moly is in my pocket everyday. I use the simple version, which I think sells the effect just fine. Clarioneer Special user Ferndown, Dorset, UK 624 Posts | 0 I have had a set made up using UK 2 pound coin which is perfect - you can use any currency of course bar chinese I'll call one coin coin 1 the other coin 2 to try and not give too much away.. The benefit of real coins is as follows.. The spec doesn't suspect anything at the outset. I have noticed - and this is important - that you can place coin 1 very openly in a specs hands - when you close your hand to hold it you CAN'T feel it. POSSIBLY THE MOST OPEN switch invented (if you can call it that as you actually haven't switched anything!) I am thus working on adding an extra phase using this principle.. Show normal coin (or get it from audience) In the hand switch Openly place this in specs hand. First revelation (after some play and waving etc..) Take out coin 2 saying wierd - you know that once happened before and show coin 2. Take back their coin 1 and perform in the hand palm switch. Place this in the specs hand Say something like - let's see if we can fix the coins Perform spellbound and show yours fixed Now ask spec to try it themselves on their coin.. voila!!!!! I think this might be a nice half way house between the two routines supplied - the in the hand switches can be removed but I think they add to the effect as this way you have done the whole performance one handed so less suspicious? Let me know what you think..

Clarioneer Special user Ferndown, Dorset, UK 624 Posts | 0 Doing the supplied routine would not be magical using coins hence you change the routine - ever seen a half dollar with a hole in it - that adds the surprise - it also means you can borrow a coin to do the effect - both these ideas make it more magical - had lots of fun with this yesterday - and the kids couldn't understand it and tried to make their coins get holes and when they had a coin with the hole tried to make them disappear.. washers would not have impressed them as much.. Also had fun moving straight into gadabout coins using the coin with one hole(the girl coin) - boy coins kept coming back to the hand - but when the girl coin went into the pocket all the boy coins followed..

The NL Pure is brighter, has more contrast, the FOV slaps you, and then when you go back to the EL slaps you again for the loss. The level of detail is impressive, and almost as importantly, beautifully presented. The advance of the NL is not incremental but in most ways distances itself from other alpha binoculars in a way unseen by the industry since perhaps 2004?
My conditions outside were not conducive to glare and I did not experience any, and I remain curious about this issue.
The focuser is as close to perfectly smoothe as possible although I would like a tad more resistance, the eye cups are better, the diopter adjustment is curious and I don’t know if the design will be a good answer. The ergonomics are everything you've read about, and the armor's texture was also very pleasing. I've never owned a Swarovski and I will be starting with the NL in 8X42.

NOTE: IMO, the NL's more than other alphas ask to be used without glasses; and, with my eyes buried in the cups caused the massive FOV to be more fully absorbed and immersive.
